Recorded in June-August 2021, 'Carousel' is the first instalment of breaks and loops compiled by Michael Gibbon and Elijah Quinsee-Jarvis.

Despite being isolated within Melbourne (the most locked down city in the world), both Gibbon and Quinsee-Jarvis spent many months separated from one another, swapping samples and beats that best reflected their mutual appreciation for listening to old records.

The majority of songs were put together in a single session - an exercise in spontaneity and creativity, where there was less emphasis on refinement and more focus on putting together quick ideas. From the melancholy 'Tomorrow (Is Gone)' to the chaotic 'Ruckus', 'Carousel' is a subversive journey through unique sounds...
